Andhra Pradesh, Kings Infra Sign ₹2,500 Crore MoU for AI-Driven Aquaculture Park

Andhra Pradesh is set to build one of the world’s most advanced aquaculture ecosystems after signing a landmark ₹2,500 crore MoU with Kings Infra Ventures to establish a 500-acre Integrated Aquaculture Technology Park near Srikakulam. The project positions the state as a global hub for smart, sustainable, high-tech aquaculture, combining biotechnology, automation, AI, and renewable energy into a single integrated platform.

The State Government has appointed the Srikakulam District Collector to identify suitable land and fast-track approvals, signaling a push to begin Phase I operations as quickly as possible.

A First-of-Its-Kind Aquaculture Innovation Hub

The park will be built through a ₹500 crore direct investment from Kings Infra and consortium partners, with an additional ₹2,000 crore expected from ancillary industries, tank-based systems, MSME suppliers, food-processing units, and renewable-energy clusters.

Planned facilities include:

  • Hatcheries and indoor RAS farms

  • Multi-species aquaculture units

  • High-capacity processing lines

  • A marine bio-actives and nutraceutical division

  • Climate-controlled farming systems

  • A central AI-driven digital operations centre

  • BlueTechOS-powered monitoring and automation

This will be India’s first fully AI-governed aquaculture ecosystem, enabling real-time water-quality analytics, predictive disease control, auto-feeding, and machine-learning dashboards for end-to-end farm management.

Government: “A Transformative Boost for Coastal Entrepreneurship”

MSME Minister Kondapalli Srinivas called the initiative a historic step:

“This is the first-of-its-kind aquaculture park in India. We will ensure seamless single-window support, from land approvals to clearances. This aligns with our Chief Minister’s Vision 2030 to drive entrepreneurship and coastal development.”

The government expects the park to accelerate Srikakulam’s economic transformation by pulling in supply chains, logistics providers, startup incubators, bio-tech innovators, and export-oriented processing units.

Skill Development: Training 5,000 Aqua Professionals

A key highlight is the Aquaculture Skill & Innovation Centre, which will train 5,000 professionals over five years. Trainees will receive hands-on training in:

  • RAS farming

  • IoT-enabled monitoring

  • Automated feeding systems

  • Biosecurity protocols

  • AI-powered farm operations

  • Export-grade processing and packaging

The centre will also support MSME incubation, entrepreneurship mentoring, and market access programs for coastal communities.

Global academic partnerships with CMFRI, CIFE, FSI, RGCA, and international institutions are being explored.

Multi-Species, Year-Round Production

The park will support a broad species mix to diversify India’s seafood export basket, including:

  • Shrimp (L. Vannamei, Black Tiger)

  • Seabass, Grouper, Tilapia

  • Mud Crab

  • Select freshwater and marine species

The Marine Nutraceutical and Bio-actives Unit will convert waste biomass into high-value products such as astaxanthin, Omega-3 oils, marine collagen, and seaweed derivatives — strengthening circular economy practices.

Kings Infra: “Built in India, for the World”

Kings Infra CMD Shaji Baby John said:

“This ecosystem will be a global model for smart, sustainable aquaculture. By combining AI, biotech, and automation, we aim to create the world’s most advanced aquaculture platform.”

COO Sreeram Inagalla added that Srikakulam’s coastal potential, skilled communities, and port access make it ideal for a high-tech aquaculture cluster.

A Big Bet on the Blue Economy

The project aligns with national priorities on blue-economy development, food security, export diversification, and climate-resilient farming.

If implemented as planned, Andhra Pradesh could emerge as Asia’s leading centre for AI-driven aquaculture, combining production, processing, research, innovation, and entrepreneurship into a unified hub.
