From Search to Agentic Shopping: Why L Catterton Is Investing in Glance

Global investment firm L Catterton has made a strategic investment in Glance. Glance is an AI-powered personal shopping platform backed by global technology company InMobi. The firm said the move reflects its belief that AI will reshape how consumers find and buy products.

A Personal Shopper on Every Device

Glance aims to give shoppers the feel of a personal shopper on the devices they already use. Its agentic AI learns a consumer’s interests and preferences. It then suggests relevant products, including ones the shopper may not have thought of.

The platform runs across smartphones, connected TVs and other digital spaces. This lets consumers move naturally from inspiration to discovery to purchase.

Why L Catterton Is Investing

The investment builds on L Catterton’s research into changing consumer behaviour. That includes the growing role of AI in product discovery, consideration and purchase. The firm sees Glance as well placed to benefit, with technology and reach that make shopping more intuitive, visual and engaging.

L Catterton will bring its consumer and category expertise, operating capabilities and global network. It will support Glance’s continued expansion, with a particular focus on the US.

Scott Dahnke, Global CEO of L Catterton, said agentic commerce is changing how consumers discover and shop for products. It creates big opportunities for brands that make the journey more personal, intuitive and engaging. He said Glance stands out for its distinctive consumer offer and broad distribution across the screens where people spend their time.

Millions of Devices in the US

Glance already works with Samsung, Motorola and DIRECTV. Through these partnerships, it is available on millions of devices across the US. That extends its reach across mobile and TV, and into more of the moments in a consumer’s day.

Naveen Tewari, Founder and CEO of InMobi and Glance, called L Catterton one of the most respected investors in the consumer space. He said the firm has an excellent record of identifying and building category-defining brands. In his view, the backing validates the shopping model Glance has built. He added that the future of commerce will move beyond search to agentic shopping.
