Infosys Builds Bigger in Telangana: New Pocharam Block Can Support 13,000 More Staff

Infosys has expanded its Pocharam Development Center (DC) in Hyderabad, Telangana. It opened a new Software Development Block, a 1.1 million sq. ft. facility. The block strengthens the company’s presence in Telangana and its commitment to the state’s technology and talent ecosystem.

Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, Deputy Chief Minister and Minister for Finance, Planning and Energy, attended the inauguration. So did Duddilla Sridhar Babu, Minister for Information Technology, Electronics and Communications, Industries and Commerce, and Legislative Affairs. Infosys was represented by Chief Financial Officer Jayesh Sanghrajka, Executive Vice President Sunil Kumar Dhareshwar and Senior Vice President Niladri Prasad Mishra. Senior officials from the Telangana Government and Infosys also took part.

Campus Capacity

The campus covers 450 acres. It now has seven software development blocks with about 4.58 million sq. ft. of built-up area. The new block adds 10,000 seats. Infosys aims to support more than 13,000 additional employees there under a hybrid working model.

Focus Areas and Green Design

The Pocharam DC serves global clients in Banking, Financial Services and Insurance (BFSI), Retail, Life Sciences and Manufacturing. The expansion will deepen Infosys capabilities in AI, cloud, cybersecurity, engineering and next-generation digital services.

The facility supports Infosys sustainability commitments. It uses energy-efficient radiant cooling and smart lighting. It also has rainwater harvesting, wastewater reuse and spaces filled with natural daylight. These features aim to improve energy efficiency and the comfort and wellbeing of staff. Flexible workspaces, collaborative areas and employee wellness facilities support a modern hybrid work style.

What the Leaders Said

Vikramarka said Telangana has become a global technology destination, backed by world-class infrastructure, skilled talent and a thriving innovation ecosystem. He called the Pocharam expansion another milestone that opens opportunities for young people to join the next wave of technology-led growth. Investments of this scale, he said, reinforce Hyderabad’s position as a preferred destination for global enterprises. They also advance the state’s vision of a future-ready, innovation-driven economy.

Sanghrajka said Hyderabad has played a pivotal role in Infosys’ growth. He said the expansion reflects the company’s continued commitment to the region. The facility raises Infosys capacity to scale operations, build specialised talent and deliver complex transformation programmes for global clients. As enterprises speed up their adoption of AI, he said, the campus will be a strategic hub. It will bring together talent, advanced infrastructure and deep capabilities to help clients innovate, compete better and gain lasting business value.
