The All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with 22 EdTech companies to introduce 40 innovative educational products under the National Educational Alliance for Technology (NEAT) 4.0. The initiative aims to enhance digital learning and equip students with industry-relevant skills in emerging sectors.
AICTE officials stated that over 300 products were evaluated by domain experts, with the best 40 solutions selected for inclusion on the NEAT portal (neat.aicte-india.org). These products will provide students with AI-driven learning solutions and personalized educational experiences to improve learning outcomes.
AI and Innovation Driving NEAT 4.0
AICTE Chairman T.G. Sitharam highlighted that AI tools on the NEAT portal play a crucial role in personalizing learning for students. He emphasized that the product onboarding process includes evaluations every two to three months, ensuring continuous innovation and high standards.
The NEAT initiative was introduced by the Ministry of Education in September 2019 under a public-private partnership model to accelerate the adoption of EdTech solutions in Indian education. The previous phase, NEAT 3.0, was launched by Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan in January 2022.
Focus on Industry-Oriented Skills
At the launch event, Anil D. Sahasrabudhe, Chairman of the National Educational Technology Forum (NETF), expressed confidence in NEAT 4.0’s ability to revolutionize online learning. He noted that the new phase focuses on industry-oriented skills, which will enhance employability for students across various sectors.
Adding to this, Buddha Chandrasekhar, Chief Coordination Officer at AICTE, stated that NEAT 4.0 incorporates emerging fields such as Biomedical Engineering, Health and Wellness, and Space Technology, making the platform more versatile and future-ready.
Empowering Students with Digital Learning Solutions
NEAT 4.0 aims to bridge the gap between education and industry requirements by offering advanced learning resources. Through partnerships with EdTech firms, AICTE is promoting technology adoption. This initiative enables students to access high-quality tools and courses designed to enhance academic performance and career readiness.
