Sonoco Opens Hyderabad GCC with $10M for IT Expansion

Sonoco Products Company, a global leader in sustainable packaging, has inaugurated its Global Capability Center (GCC) in Hyderabad, marking a major milestone in its digital transformation strategy. With an initial investment of $10 million, the Hyderabad Performance Hub will play a pivotal role in advancing Sonoco’s global IT operations, fostering technology innovation, and creating new opportunities for India’s growing tech talent.

Strengthening Sonoco’s Digital and Technology Capabilities

The new hub is designed to leverage Hyderabad’s dynamic technology ecosystem to drive innovation in packaging design and manufacturing. Equipped with state-of-the-art IT infrastructure, collaborative workspaces, and modern training environments, the facility will focus on:

Expansion Plans and Job Creation

Sonoco plans to hire 300 technologists over the next 12-18 months, with a long-term goal of expanding the workforce to 500 employees within three years. The hub will serve as a global technology center, bridging India’s expertise with Sonoco’s worldwide operations.
