Andhra CM Plans ‘Quantum Valley’ in State

Andhra Pradesh is taking bold steps towards becoming a leader in quantum computing with Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu announcing plans to create a ‘Quantum Valley’ in the state. The initiative aims to position Andhra Pradesh as a national and global hub for quantum research, attracting top-tier talent and investments.

Building India’s First Quantum Valley

Chief Minister Naidu stated that quantum technology is poised to bring revolutionary advancements across industries, and Andhra Pradesh is determined to secure a first-mover advantage in this transformative field.

“Taking a step in that direction, we are setting up a task force and working on a plan to create a ‘Quantum Valley’, a world-class quantum computing hub in Andhra Pradesh that aligns with the National Quantum Mission,” Naidu posted on X.

Strategic Partnerships with IIT Madras, TCS, and IBM

To execute this ambitious vision, Andhra Pradesh is collaborating with IIT Madras, TCS, IBM, L&T, and the Department of Science and Technology (DST). These partnerships will help in developing research capabilities, infrastructure, and attracting investments for quantum computing innovation.

On Monday, a key strategy meeting was held with industry leaders including L&T Chairman & MD S.N. Subrahmanyan, DST Secretary Abhay Karandikar, and IBM Quantum India Leader Venkat Subramaniam.

Naidu’s Vision: Bringing Deep Tech to Andhra Pradesh

Speaking at a book launch event in Vijayawada, Naidu reiterated his vision for Andhra Pradesh to emerge as a leader in deep technology and quantum computing.

“I went one step ahead and thought about deep technology and quantum computing. They should come to Andhra Pradesh. Quantum computing should come to Amaravati,” Naidu stated.

He emphasized that deep tech and quantum computing represent the future, and Andhra Pradesh must position itself at the forefront of this revolution. The government, alongside industry and academia, is exploring ways to integrate quantum technologies into research, innovation, and industry applications.
