Vertiv Launches Pune Training Academy to Strengthen Data Centre Talent and Innovation

Vertiv, the global digital infrastructure solutions provider, has launched a Training Academy and Technology Excellence Centre at its Integrated Business Services hub in Pune, aiming to develop a stronger talent base for India’s rapidly expanding data centre industry. The new facility offers engineers, partners, and operators access to live setups of advanced cooling distribution units (CDUs), power switchgear systems, and three-phase UPS modules, allowing trainees to work on real-world systems used across hyperscale, telecom, cloud, and enterprise environments.

The academy is designed to address a growing skills shortage as AI-driven workloads accelerate demand for high-density data centre capacity in India. Vertiv said the facility will help trainees build practical capabilities required to design, deploy, and maintain next-generation digital infrastructure.

Technology Excellence Centre Focuses on R&D for Power and Thermal Innovation

Alongside the academy, Vertiv has introduced a Technology Excellence Centre comprising engineering and R&D labs dedicated to advancing power and thermal management technologies. These labs will enable full-cycle testing, validation, and optimisation of Vertiv’s global product portfolio, including high-efficiency cooling systems and advanced power conditioning equipment.

The company said the centre will play a key role in improving reliability and sustainability metrics for modern facilities, especially as AI adoption increases power density requirements. It also reflects Vertiv’s efforts to support energy-efficient operations across data centres worldwide through hardware innovation and lifecycle engineering.

Vertiv Positions Pune as a Strategic Global Delivery Hub

Subhasis Majumdar, Managing Director for Vertiv India, said the new academy is essential to meet workforce needs. “With the surge in AI investments across the data centre space, we expect a significant demand for a skilled, adaptive workforce. This training academy will play a pivotal role in upskilling engineers and customers to design and service next-generation facilities,” he said.

Ryan Jarvis, Vice President of Vertiv’s Global Services Business Unit, added that the Pune hub strengthens Vertiv’s global services network. He said the facility enhances Vertiv’s ability to deliver consistent service quality and operational agility across international markets.

Preparing a Workforce for High-Density Digital Infrastructure

David Yao, Senior Director of the Pune Hub, noted that the academy will support a wide base of partners and customers worldwide. Training modules are aligned with Vertiv’s global standards, featuring five dedicated training bays, hands-on simulation tools, and modular content covering power management, cooling optimisation, AI-driven operations, and digital monitoring technologies.

Vertiv said the academy represents a long-term commitment to India as a talent and delivery hub. As data centre growth accelerates, the company expects skilled technicians trained in Pune to contribute to deployment and maintenance efforts across Asia-Pacific and the Middle East.
