Product engineering firm Sasken Technologies has opened a new Centre of Excellence (CoE) in Hyderabad to strengthen its regional delivery capabilities and deepen collaboration with chipset partners like Qualcomm and their OEM ecosystems. The facility targets next-generation engineering across connected devices, 5G platforms, IoT solutions, embedded systems, and digital product development for automotive, smart devices, hi-tech, satellite communication, and industrial sectors.
Nirmala Datla, Sasken’s Chief Data Science and Engineering Officer, will lead the CoE, driving delivery excellence, capability building, and talent development. The company plans to hire over 100 specialised professionals in semiconductors, automotive, data science, and engineering roles within months to support complex global programmes.
Leveraging Hyderabad’s Tech Ecosystem
Sasken selected Hyderabad for its burgeoning technology talent pool and established engineering ecosystem, enabling closer customer collaboration and accelerated innovation cycles. The CoE positions the company to scale delivery for Qualcomm-linked programmes and other OEM partners requiring high-performance connected systems engineering.
Hareesh Ramanna, Sasken Chief Experience Officer, highlighted strategic alignment: “Hyderabad’s engineering ecosystem enables faster time-to-market and deeper customer partnerships across our target segments.”
Expanding Engineering Footprint
The expansion responds to surging demand for embedded systems, 5G connectivity, and IoT platforms amid automotive electrification, satellite broadband rollout, and industrial digitalisation. Sasken’s focus on semiconductors and data science addresses critical gaps in edge AI deployment and intelligent device development.
Hyderabad joins Sasken’s established delivery centres, creating geographic diversity while concentrating high-skill resources in India’s fastest-growing tech hub. Initial 100+ hires target roles bridging hardware-software convergence essential for next-generation platforms.
