Princeton Digital Group (PDG), a leading data centre operator in Asia Pacific, has agreed to sell its enterprise data centre business in Indonesia. The buyer is PT SMPlus Digital Investama, together with its affiliates (“SM+”). PDG signed a definitive agreement for the deal today.
SM+ is a digital infrastructure and services investment platform. Sinar Mas, one of Indonesia’s largest conglomerates, backs it.
Five Facilities Across Indonesia
The sale covers five operational data centres. They sit in Greater Jakarta, Bandung, Surabaya and Pekanbaru.
PDG acquired these facilities in 2019, when it entered Indonesia. It has since invested in the portfolio and upgraded it.
Why PDG Is Selling
Rangu Salgame, PDG’s Chairman, CEO and Co-Founder, said the company follows a set pattern. It enters a market, builds a strong operating base, then grows for scale. In Indonesia, PDG began by buying an established data centre portfolio. It then invested to widen its capabilities and build a hyperscale business.
PDG has since built a 400 MW hyperscale portfolio in the country. It covers the JC2, JC3 and JC4 campuses, and PDG plans to keep investing in their expansion. Salgame described the sale as a natural next step. It lets PDG keep meeting the rising needs of its hyperscale customers in Indonesia and across APAC.
The deal remains subject to customary closing conditions.
PDG’s total portfolio exceeds 1.8 GW across eight Asia Pacific countries.
