Made in India: VIVOTEK Smart Cameras Now Roll Off Delta’s Krishnagiri Line

Delta Electronics India has begun local production of smart surveillance cameras from VIVOTEK, its key security brand. The cameras are being made at Delta’s Krishnagiri plant in Tamil Nadu. The company announced the move on 21 October.

The step aligns with the “Make in India” initiative. It strengthens regional electronics supply chains and speeds up smart infrastructure deployment.

Hong Wu, General Manager of Delta’s Building Automation Business Group, said smart security is an essential pillar of Delta’s intelligent solutions roadmap. Combining VIVOTEK’s edge AI analytics and cybersecurity with Delta’s manufacturing scale delivers shorter lead times and agile technical support. This serves critical infrastructure, transportation hubs and commercial sectors.

Niranjan Nayak, Managing Director of Delta Electronics India, said local production reflects the company’s commitment to India’s industrial ecosystem. He said the facility ensures strict quality control and cost efficiency. It also helps build domestic talent and the capabilities of local suppliers.

Starting With the Commercial Series

Production begins with the commercial series. These cameras will fully comply with India’s mandatory BIS ER-01 standards.

Local manufacturing cuts spare-parts turnaround times significantly. It also helps system integrators meet domestic procurement criteria. That lets them compete actively in government and public tenders.

What Comes Next

VIVOTEK plans to widen its portfolio in phases. It will add mid-to-high-end AI surveillance models for advanced sectors, including smart cities and intelligent transportation systems. It will also expand partner training across India.

Delta, in turn, will scale up manufacturing capacity at Krishnagiri. This will fully support VIVOTEK in meeting India’s growing demand for security infrastructure.
