Chennai’s AI Factory Grows: Vyoma.AI Starts Building a 52 MW Green Data Centre

Vyoma.AI, Larsen & Toubro’s integrated AI cloud and hyperscale data centre business, has begun construction of a 52 MW AI-ready green data centre in Chennai. It held a groundbreaking ceremony (Bhoomi Pujan) to mark the start.

Part of a Gigawatt-Scale AI Campus

The new facility is part of L&T’s planned AI Factory campus in Chennai. The company describes the campus as a gigawatt-scale AI hub. It already hosts AI compute clusters in an operational 30 MW facility. It is also backed by 150 MVA of power infrastructure readiness.

Built for High-Density AI

Vyoma.AI says it designed the data centre for high-density AI workloads. It will use direct-to-chip liquid cooling to manage the heat from high-performance computing systems. The site will also integrate renewable energy and use energy-efficient technologies.

Prashant Chiranjive Jain, Managing Director of Vyoma.AI, said the centre is designed for the performance, scalability and resilience that next-generation workloads need. He added that it will advance sustainable, low-carbon digital infrastructure.

Who It Will Serve

The facility will serve hyperscalers, neoclouds and AI innovators. It aims to meet growing demand for cloud computing, AI workloads and data localisation.

A Growing National Footprint

The project adds to Vyoma.AI’s portfolio and supports its national expansion plan. The company is targeting more than 250 MW of data centre capacity across India. In August, Vyoma.AI secured an NVIDIA B300 AI Factory in Chennai for Together AI, a US-based AI cloud provider.

Vyoma.AI has not disclosed the investment planned for the Chennai facility or an expected completion date.
