Cognizant Unveils AI-Driven Platform for Resilient IT Operations

Cognizant has unveiled Resilient IT Operations, a new platform-powered offering designed to help enterprises reduce IT downtime, automate routine work, and strengthen resilience across increasingly complex technology estates. The company positions this as a step toward “Agentic IT Operations,” where autonomous and semi-autonomous AI agents handle tasks traditionally performed manually by IT teams.

Modern IT Environments Are Reaching a Breaking Point

Global enterprises today are juggling fragmented multi-cloud environments, legacy infrastructure, microservices, and generative AI–driven processes. This has created a surge in operational debt — repetitive fixes, manual maintenance, and firefighting that slow innovation and increase risk.

Cognizant’s new platform aims to help organizations move away from reactive operations. By combining automation, analytics, and agentic AI, the offering is built to enable IT teams to prevent incidents instead of responding to them, and to shift their focus from maintenance to higher-value engineering work.

Agentic AI To Drive Self-Healing and Faster Resolution

A major component of the new platform is the use of AI agents capable of autonomous and semi-autonomous execution. These agents can assist with:

  • proactive issue detection

  • automated remediation

  • self-healing workflows across cloud and on-prem systems

  • accelerated incident resolution

Cognizant says this approach reduces the need for manual intervention, shortens outage windows, and increases reliability across distributed environments.

Prasad Sankaran, President of Software and Platform Engineering at Cognizant, said the platform brings automation and AI “to centre stage,” enabling organizations to improve operational resilience while reducing cost and complexity.

Reducing Operational Debt and Enabling Continuous Improvement

The platform is designed around three core outcomes:

  1. Prevent critical incidents through predictive analytics and real-time monitoring

  2. Accelerate resolution using automated playbooks and AI-guided troubleshooting

  3. Increase automation coverage to reduce manual, repetitive work

As enterprises continue to scale workloads across cloud, edge, and hybrid environments, Cognizant positions Resilient IT Operations as an enabler for continuous improvement — allowing IT teams to modernise without interrupting service delivery.

Built on Cognizant’s IT Operations Expertise

Resilient IT Operations consolidates Cognizant’s long-standing experience in IT operations, cloud transformation, and AI engineering. The offering brings together:

  • Cognizant’s AI-native platforms

  • its partner ecosystem

  • existing AIOps and automation capabilities

  • emerging technologies in agent-based automation

By aligning these capabilities into a unified platform, Cognizant aims to provide enterprises with a structured path to reduce downtime, improve reliability, and build future-ready IT architectures.
