Emergent, a rising player in the no-code and agentic development space, has secured $23 million in Series A funding to expand its AI-powered “vibe coding” platform. The funding round was led by Lightspeed, with participation from Together Fund, Y Combinator, Prosus Ventures, and prominent angel investors such as Jeff Dean and Balaji Srinivasan.
Launched just months ago, Emergent’s platform empowers users—especially creators, solopreneurs, and small business owners—to build production-ready applications using natural language prompts without any prior coding experience. According to the company, the platform surpassed $15 million in annual recurring revenue (ARR) within its first 90 days and has enabled over 1 million users to create more than 1.5 million applications.
Building Software with a Single Prompt
At the heart of Emergent’s technology is an AI coding agent developed fully in-house to ensure data security and reliability. The platform collapses the traditionally complex software development process into a simple user interface that can generate fully functional applications complete with login systems, payments, backend infrastructure, and scalability features—all at the press of a button.
