The Indian Renewable Energy Development Agency Ltd. (IREDA), SJVN Ltd., GMR Energy Ltd., and the Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) have formalized a Joint Venture Agreement to develop the 900 MW Upper Karnali Hydropower Project in Nepal. This initiative marks a milestone in regional renewable energy collaboration, setting the stage for cross-border advancements in clean energy generation.

The agreement outlines the development, construction, operation, and maintenance of the hydropower project under a Build-Own-Operate-Transfer (BOOT) model.
