Karnataka, SISA Sign ₹150 Cr MoU for Cybersecurity Innovation

The Karnataka government has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) worth ₹150 crore with SISA, a global leader in forensics-driven cybersecurity solutions, to advance cybersecurity innovation and research in the digital payments sector. The MoU was formalized at the Global Investors Meet held in Bengaluru on Friday.

Cybersecurity Centre of Excellence in Bengaluru

Under the three-year agreement, Karnataka aims to establish a cybersecurity centre of excellence in Bengaluru, fostering state-of-the-art research and developing next-generation solutions to protect digital transactions. The initiative seeks to make Karnataka a global hub for cybersecurity advancements.

The MoU was signed between Dr. S Selvakumar, Principal Secretary of the Commerce and Industries Department of Karnataka, and Dharshan Shanthamurthy, Founder & CEO of SISA. The agreement highlights the state’s commitment to strengthening cybersecurity and ensuring the safety of the digital economy.

Employment & Research Expansion

The cybersecurity centre will employ over 1,000 professionals, working on cutting-edge technologies to tackle emerging cyber threats in the payment ecosystem. Given the rise in data breaches and cyberattacks targeting digital transactions, this initiative will focus on building resilience and trust in digital payments.

Forensics-Driven Cybersecurity for Payments

SISA, headquartered in Bengaluru, has pioneered forensics-driven security approaches to safeguard digital transactions. With increasing threats in the financial sector, the partnership will enhance research into emerging cyber dangers, payment fraud prevention, and real-time threat intelligence.
