The newly launched system, called WaveLight Plus InnovEyes, gathers more than 100,000 data points from a patient’s optical structure to construct a 3D digital model of the eye. This model captures intricate details — from the cornea to the retina — enabling specialists to create a “digital twin” of each eye.

Unlike traditional refractive procedures, which rely on standardized parameters, the InnovEyes system leverages artificial intelligence to analyze these data points and design a customized ablation pattern for each patient. This personalized approach ensures that corrections for myopia, hypermetropia, and astigmatism are not only more precise but also better aligned with individual variations in visual anatomy.

The technology, developed by Alcon, uses AI to guide the laser correction process in real time, minimizing errors and optimizing visual outcomes. Actor Vinay Rai inaugurated the system at Rajan Eye Care, underscoring how innovation in medical technology is transforming India’s healthcare landscape.
