Uttar Pradesh Chief Secretary Manoj Kumar Singh outlined the state’s key investment priorities at the World Economic Forum (WEF) Annual Meeting in Davos, emphasizing opportunities in food processing, artificial intelligence (AI), and electronic manufacturing.
Singh revealed that the state delegation has already engaged with major global corporations, including Budweiser, and plans to meet representatives from Coke, Pepsi, and Microsoft to attract investments that align with the state’s strategic focus.
Focus on Food Processing and Manufacturing
The Chief Secretary highlighted food processing as a cornerstone of Uttar Pradesh’s economic development strategy. “Agriculture is the backbone of Uttar Pradesh, and food processing will directly enhance employment and boost farmer incomes,” Singh stated. The sector offers vast potential, given the state’s agricultural dominance.
He also emphasized Uttar Pradesh’s leadership in electronic manufacturing. “The state accounts for 55% of India’s mobile phone production and nearly 60% of electronic components, positioning it as a key player in the industry,” Singh said, underlining plans to expand manufacturing capabilities further.
Pioneering AI and Emerging Technologies
Singh noted the state’s focus on next-generation technologies such as AI, geospatial mapping, and other emerging fields. These sectors are expected to drive innovation and attract cutting-edge investments. “We are keen to establish Uttar Pradesh as a hub for advanced technologies and AI-driven solutions,” he added.

The Uttar Pradesh delegation’s meetings with global companies aim to showcase the state’s strengths and promote its business-friendly policies. Singh confirmed productive discussions with Budweiser and scheduled engagements with Coke, Pepsi, and Microsoft.
“These engagements are pivotal for fostering global partnerships and positioning Uttar Pradesh as a preferred investment destination,” Singh remarked.
