India is poised to play a pivotal role in the global artificial intelligence (AI) and green energy sectors, becoming a key engine of economic growth, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu said on Monday. Speaking at a press conference ahead of the 16th Finance Commission meeting, Naidu highlighted the growing global interest in India’s development trajectory, particularly at the recently concluded World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos.
Naidu emphasized that India’s advancements in AI and sustainable energy technologies position the country as a key contributor to global progress. “India is the pulling factor for global economic growth,” the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) chief remarked, reflecting on the significant attention India garnered from world leaders at Davos.
AI: The New Driving Force
Drawing comparisons between the IT revolution of 1995 and today’s developments, Naidu described artificial intelligence as the “order of the day.” He noted that just as India became a global leader in information technology, the country is now well-positioned to harness AI’s transformative potential across industries.
“In 1995, it was information technology, and in 2025 it is AI,” Naidu said, highlighting his continued involvement in fostering technological innovation. He expressed optimism about India’s competitive advantage in the rapidly evolving AI sector, thanks to the country’s vast talent pool and technological infrastructure.
Focus on Green Energy Initiatives
In addition to AI, green energy—especially green hydrogen production—was a major theme at Davos, Naidu revealed. He stressed that global efforts to combat climate change have intensified, with a particular emphasis on reducing carbon emissions and promoting renewable energy solutions.
“Reducing global warming through green energy and downstream industries has become a global priority,” Naidu stated, underscoring India’s growing leadership in sustainability-driven innovation.
